LUMA BUOY

Contemporary lighting inspired by reclaimed fishing materials

Luma Buoy is a contemporary lighting collection that reimagines the form of discarded fishing buoys as sculptural pendant lighting. Inspired by materials collected from the Kent coastline, the project explores how objects associated with marine industry and waste can be transformed into desirable interior products. The clustered arrangements create atmospheric lighting while celebrating the history, wear, and imperfections of the original materials. Designed for both residential and hospitality environments, Luma Buoy offers a flexible system that can adapt to different spaces. The project combines sustainability, material storytelling, and contemporary design to give discarded fishing materials a new purpose.
